Interior Painting

Winning a lottery home means walking into a fully furnished and styled home with no need to bring anything but your suitcase of clothes and a toothbrush. Buying a lottery home from the winner can be the same. The owners of this stunning South Surrey lottery home were ready to refresh the fully furnished lottery home they bought to reflect their own family’s style and needs. This included a basement renovation and complete interior repaint.

After the floors were refinished and the basement renovation was done, Warline worked with designer Jil McDonald of Jil Sonia Interiors to develop the perfect colour palette for this home.

South Surrey Lottery Home Given a Complete Interior Painting to Liven Up the HomeThe house sits facing West with a stunning ocean view. Lots of big windows meant prep was going to be a priority for this house. Nothing reveals badly prepped walls like sunshine streaming through a ten foot window. We brought in our Festool sanders and dust extractors to bring the finish up to a high level.

The Colours

Originally the trim was a very rich creamy off white. The casual style of the family and their desire for a more updated look had us change the colours to a softer white. Benjamin Moore Cloud White (CC-40 / OC-180) worked perfectly. Using Benjamin Moore Advance in the Pearl finish gave a soft sheen without appearing too formal.

Throughout the entire house we used Benjamin Moore Regal Matte. This is a family with active kids and washable walls were a must.

The main floor and hallways were using Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray (Hc-172). This favourite gray blue colour of Jil’s was light and fresh and worked perfectly against the white trim. Stonington Gray is a great colour when you need a blue undertone but don’t want blue walls.

In the main living room, we left the traditional white ceilings behind and opted for some sunny day blue skies. The recessed ceiling was painted in Benjamin Moore Woodlawn Blue (HC-147). We repeated this colour in the back wall of the bookcases in the office.

The Bedrooms

The main wall colour remained consistent on all three floors of this house to create flow. The bedrooms offered the opportunity to add colour and personal touches to the home.

The guest room was painted in Benjamin Moore Pale Straw (2021-70). If you are ever looking for the perfect soft yellow paint colour, this is the one. It isn’t crazy or overpowering and has a lovely fresh feel. It is also a perfect colour for a nursery.

The master bedroom was painted in Benjamin Moore Gray Wisp (CC-670) and the office was painted in Benjamin Moore Ballet White (OC-9). The large concrete fireplace in the office needed a soft colour. Ballet White was perfect.

The boy’s room was painted in Benjamin Moore Metropolitan (AF-690). This is a great go to colour for boys bedrooms. It isn’t too grey or too blue and works with all sorts of accent colours from orange to navy or green.

The girl’s rooms were painted in Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue (HC-144) and Portland Gray (2109-60). Perfect colours for young ladies that required bedroom colours that will grow with their changing tastes and styles.

The Feature – A Union Jack Ceiling

Part of the basement renovation included a media room. It was an opportunity to surprise one of the owners with a custom painted ceiling honouring his country of origin. After mapping out the ceiling flag and carefully measuring, we painted a near perfect replica of the Union Jack on the media room ceiling. Walls were painted in Benjamin Moore Flint(AF-560). This media room is now a great place for the family to gather and enjoy movies and sports.
